to the
market
Come
away, human investor
to the
market and the wild
With a
broker, hand in hand
for the
markets more full of weeping than you can understand
Where
pulses the Wall St
There
lies a concrete island
where Corzines
lay in wait
The
drowsy market rats;
there
we've hid our broker vats
Full of
ETF's
and of
blackest algorithmic code
Come
away, human investor
to the
market
Come
away, human investor
to the
market and the wild
With a
broker, hand in hand
for the
markets more full of weeping than you can understand
Where
the elliot waves of money sloshes
snorts the
grams of cocaine and amphetamines
Far off
by furthest subway
we plan it all the night
Weaving
olden P/E with new valuation
Greasy
tills and broken lives
Till the
money has taken flight;
to and
fro we jive
and
chase the frothy bubbles
While
the world is full of troubles
And is
anxious in its sleep
Come
away, human investor
to the
market
Come
away, human investor
to the
market and the binary
With a
broker, hand in hand
for the
markets more full of weeping than you can understand
Where
the wandering market gushes
from the
penthouses above New York
In dark
pools among the banks
We seek
for slumbering sheep
and
whispering in their ears
We give
them unquiet dreams;
leaning
softly out
From
websites that drop their tears
Away
with us he's going
the
zombie-eyed:
He'll
hear no more the lowing
of the
muppets over the din of CNBC
For he
comes, the human investor
to the
market
He
comes, the human investor
to the
market and the binary
With a
broker, hand in hand
from a
world more full of weeping than he can understand
Human
investor
With a
broker, hand in hand
from a
world more full of weeping than he can understand

Someone call Loreena Mckennitt.
Have you heard the Waterboys' take on this poem? (On the Yeats original, I mean. :) Bloody brilliant!

@herrborjesson ... I knew someone would make the connection. Fisherman Blues is the name of the album which was the high point in the bands career.
Last I heard the lead singer put together an album based on the work of Yeats. Been meaning to check it out.
@Gavin No idea who Loreena McKennitt is but I'll assume she covered the Waterboys.
Definitely should hear LM's as well: http://youtu.be/KQtNSGLKHBQ
